Working with Coach Hicks and Maryland Soccer Academy for the past 3 1/2 years, I was able to become a much more technical player, a more confident player, and an all-around better player. His understanding of the game and his ability to identify what a player needs to work on has helped me to rapidly improve. As a result, I was recruited by several colleges and just recently committed to play soccer in the fall of 2015 at Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio. Thanks in large part to Coach Hicks and his Maryland Soccer Academy I will go there prepared, with the confidence and ability to compete for the starting GK position as a freshman.

Working with Coach Hicks early in my developmental career, impacted my soccer more than any other coach ever has. I was able to hone in on important fundamental and tactical aspects of the game of soccer. I also was trained to play Goalkeeper, the position I have played since my days with Coach Hicks as an 11 year old. I currently play keeper for the Club soccer team at college, and have strong prospects of making the D1 varsity team as a walk on next semester, and I primarily credit Coach Hicks for the work he did to make me the footballer I am today.

Coach Hicks, Coach Maxwell: My coaches have taught me everything I know and love about the game.  I have been playing since the age of 4.  I have not only been taught to be a physical player but also taught to be a smart player.   I am able to see the field in order to set up key opportunities for scoring.  I have learned to play striker, inside and outside mid, and defender.  My coaches have formed me into the player I am today.  They have made me a versatile player which will serve me well playing college soccer.

Coach Hicks-   I worked with Coach Hicks for many years and I can honestly say he is most responsible for my soccer skills and overall development.  Coach Hicks is passionate about the game and about the development of his players.  He still keeps up with me and my progress in soccer and in life.  As an Academy player, I still use the techniques and training I learned from Coach Hicks at an early age.  He is a great coach and teacher.
